Univest Bank & Trust Co. has opened its first location in the Pittsburgh area in Cranberry Township, Butler County, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities and confirmed by Univest. Souderton-based Univest (NASDAQ: UVSP) announced last April that it was entering Pittsburgh and Baltimore after expanding into central Pennsylvania in recent years. It hired veteran local banker Chris Trombetta from F.N.B. Corp. to serve as Pittsburgh market president. Initially, the Cranberry office will focus on the lending and banking needs of businesses and consumers but Univest is planning to offer its full suite of products and services including mortgage lending, wealth management, insurance and equipment leasing.
